Category: Blogger Event (invited by Tilda Rice)
Sometimes it’s really worth having a food blog (apart from satisfying your creative side of course and from having a great excuse to eat out all the time for research purpose) and that is, when you get invited to events. Very often these events are boring, you get uninspired food and they are not worth talking, let alone write about. Once in a while though you have one of these very enjoyable experiences, that you know you would never have if you hadn’t put a big portion of your non-working life in obsessively writing and maintaining your little baby (=blog). June 21st, 2011 What do you do when your some of your friends and favourite food bloggers decide to join forces and found the first pan-Asian supper club in London? You are very happy, hurry there and eat!

Uyen from LoveLeluu, Luiz from The London Foodie, May from SlowFoodKitchen and MiMi from Meemalee’s Kitchen cover quite a bit of Asia between them. Even though they are all Londoner’s, Uyen is born in Vietnam, Luiz has Japanese parents, MiMi is originally from Burma and May from Malaysia. The idea is that each chef cooks one dish of his or her country’s cuisine. This means less stress for the supper clubbers and even more pleasure for the guests. Read more... March 21st, 2011 That the combination of supper clubs and raising money for charity works, has been shown on several occasions, for example at Fernandez & Leluu and The Friday Food Club (beautifully summarized by The London Foodie HERE).

So it was only a question of time until also commercially successful chefs jump on the supper club bandwagon. I was lucky enough to participate in the new Jamie Oliver Supper Club which is now held roughly monthly to raise money for the Jamie Oliver Foundation. It is Saturday, it is cold and dark and it is one of those days where I am still wearing my pajamas at 5 pm. I really don’ t want to leave the house and venture into the unknown East (of London). But I have already agreed to visit the new supper club of my charming twitter friend Matt, so I finally manage to remove my lazy self from the sofa. Luckily, the warmth and generosity of our hosts quickly lightens up the chilly November night. Also very welcoming is the dog – a beautiful Hungarian Vizla named Cooper, who we immediately make friends with. Read more... (871 words, 9 images, estimated 3:29 mins reading time)
November 4th, 2010 The supper club Fernandez & Leluu organised together with the food brand Unearthed a blogger charity dinner to raise money for Action against Hunger. This is already very good but the best thing was that I was invited as well : )

The Friday Food Club is fantastic. You have to imagine it like one of these posh dinner parties that you thought you would be invited to all the time when you are grown up and (at least in my case) never actually seem to be taking place (or seem to be taking place without me). Shacklewell Nights is a new Supper Club born out of a collaboration of Claire Roberson and Jonathan Woolway. While Claire has had a lot of experience in hosting supper clubs before as the woman behind The Green Onion Supper Club, Jonathan Woolway works as a chef at the distinctly English St. John’s in his day job. A marriage made in heaven it seems for a delicious take on British food. Read more... (912 words, 6 images, estimated 3:39 mins reading time)

Can I just start by saying that I absolutely love Fernandez & Leluu. I mean LOVE them.
They firstly are seriously talented cooks and secondly, they are also and incredibly lovely and delightful couple. All go to their supper club, no excuses! Mind you they are famous, they already made it into the international media so be sure to get there soon, and book early enough in advance. Read more... July 12th, 2010 Supper club (30 pounds BYO)
I have finally managed to go to a Supper Club. Yes I have completely missed the trend and must be the last person in the world who has never been to one of the secret restaurants that are popping up all over London (well, if I don’t count the paladares in Cuba where I ate some of the dullest food ever in the most depressing atmosphere). But now I have finally caught up with the latest trend in eating out and went to the NOMAD CHEF in Holland Park. Read more... (609 words, 1 image, estimated 2:26 mins reading time)
